GRUP Supermarket

About

The store that lets you walk out.

One shop in Kampala, open until 11:30 every night, with most of what you'd think to ask for and a car park you'll actually find a space in.

How shopping here works

How shopping here works

In store

  1. Park. It's free and there's room.
  2. Shop. Ask anyone in uniform — they'll know the aisle.
  3. Pay and go. No queue, no receipt check at the door.

Delivery — Phase 2

  1. Order online or by WhatsApp before the zone cutoff.
  2. We call if anything's out of stock — before we pack.
  3. Pay Mobile Money or cash at the door. Collection is always free.

The exit story

Why nobody checks your receipt.

Most supermarkets put a person at the door to check your bag against your receipt. We don't. It slows down every honest customer to catch almost nobody, and it says something we don't believe — that you're a suspect until a stamp says otherwise.

So: no queue at the counter, no one at the exit, staff who actually know where things are. You came for bread at ten at night. We'd rather you got home.

Substitutions and refunds

If something's out of stock, we call first.

Before we pack a delivery order, we check it. If an item's gone, we call you and offer the closest thing we have. If we can't reach you, we refund that item — not a voucher, the money. (Demo copy — the real policy needs the client's sign-off, Part 2 §10.)

The people

Ask anyone. They'll know.

The thing reviewers mention more than any other is the staff — people who walk you to the shelf instead of pointing at it.
